Fun Recipes to Try This Holiday!
It’s that time of the year again. Some love it, some hate it but everybody eats like crazy. You may have multiple family and friend dinners between now and New Years. We’re here to help you keep your holiday fitness retreat eating healthy. Here are 2 great holiday dinner recipes!
Spiced Apple Cider
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1. Bring all ingredients but brandy to boil in a large Dutch oven. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes.
Glazed Ham with Blackberry Sauce
1 cp apple cider
1/2 cp white wine
1 cup seedless blackberry jam
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbspbrown sugar
2/3 cp seedless blackberry jam
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 8 or 9 lb smoked,trimmed, bone-in ham shank
Cooking spray
3. Sauce: Combine the cider and wine in a small saucepan on medium heat; bring to a boil. Stir 1 cup jam and 1 tbsp mustard. Reduce to low heat. Cook until jam and stir until it dissolves. Remove from heat, stir in juice. Serve.
