62 Year Old Loses her Weight and beats her injury!

Jacqueline “Jax” Rockman is a 62 year old woman on a mission. Though her injury and recovery took a toll on her, she was determined to make a life change and regain her fitness, strength, and her passions in life. After weight gain set in from the fear of movement from her pain she had some major breakthroughs with her sports psychologist and made the decision to get some help.

“I didn’t realize just how much help the coaches and program at Live in Fitness were going to offer me. I thought that I would come and ‘help myself’ by being active and taking some time to get a reset, but WOW are the coaches good. I don’t like to admit that I need help, but the way they listen and truly work with me helped me to settle into what they could offer me. It is way more than I thought was going to happen.”

Jax admittedly thought that she was just going to come to Live in Fitness and make some changes, but she had no idea how much support and training she would receive while she was here.

“I was looking for something where I could stay after my physical rehab and get this weight off of me. I was most inspired by the fact that Live in Fitness is not a spa. I wanted to work. I wanted something dramatic that was going to help me make serious changes. I’m no stranger to hard work and determination. But I was so encouraged by the whole program and coaches who help people. I mean, you can tell that they care about the clients and look forward to coming to work and for heaven’s sake, they are changing lives here!”

“I have really loved the personal training sessions that I added on to the program, which have given me one-on-one time with a coach who is listening and making specific adjustments for my body and my journey. I mean, can you believe I lost 11 pounds in one week! I have 3 more to go and I am excited about the changes that I can make as we go on.”

Speaking of these changes, this inspiring and charismatic woman had been withdrawn from social events and professional engagements. “With my weight gain and feeling down I excused myself from everything – social events, speaking and teaching opportunities, even vacations with my friends. Now I am hopeful that I am getting my life back and am excited about doing the things I have loved.”

When asked about what she loves about Live in Fitness and Eric’s philosophy she remarked about the balance of nutrition and teaching the science behind the proper macronutrients for health and wellness. “I had no idea about the importance of carbohydrates. It just isn’t something that I was aware of. Now through the great coaches and the lessons we learn in lectures and all my encounters at meal times and learning from Chef Jason, I have so much more knowledge about being healthy.”

Excited about her journey and the change that she has already made, she gives this advice to anyone thinking about coming to Live in Fitness, “Today you have 100% of your life left. It’s hard to beat someone who never gives up. You will be rewarded by taking your new life seriously. You will be held accountable by yourself and that’s the most important person. Be your own cheerleader. The intrinsic gratification is much greater than the extrinsic gratification. If you are thinking about coming trust your instincts. If you are thinking about it, do it. That is your brain asking for help. And Live in Fitness provides such a foundation and framework to help you. Make the investment in yourself and you have to trust that you will have those Ah-ha moments and act on it.”
