Lost 9.5 Lbs in 1 Week!

Congratulations Sheila, who lost an amazing 9.5 lbs in 1 week!

Sheila has continued to not only lose the weight, but also increase her fitness level, and improve her endurance. To date, she has lost a total of 18 lbs in fat, and lost 6.4% in body fat.

Sheila lives in Redlands, California, and has been truly blessed to be supported by so many in her life, surrounded by family and friends. Now retired, she had a successful and fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher. One part of her life was not always so constant, her fluctuating weight gain and losses. At times this left her feeling ashamed and embarrassed.

In recent years living alone proves to be the hardest challenge for Sheila.  Although always welcomed at her son and families home, when alone she would always put off today what could be done tomorrow.

Six weeks into retirement, Sheila decided that something needed to change and she needed help to do this.  She researched and came across Live In Fitness, and it was everything she was looking for!

When asked, what did you expect when coming here to LIFE? 
“My time here has surpassed any ideas or dreams I had coming here. The staff is qualified in not only coaching me to become stronger physically, but there’s a mindset of encouragement and also an expectation of personal responsibility.  I am thrilled with my progress so far in the program. I am stronger physically and mentally. My endurance and mobility is constantly improving. Most importantly, I have experienced pushing myself physically in ways I never have before and along the way discovered ‘Jumping Jacks’, I love jumping jacks. I could do them all day long. The food is healthy and amazing, cooked fresh daily with lots of variety.  During my time here at Live In Fitness I have come to learn and understand that my issues about weight are really about being healthy, making good choices, breaking bad habits, and learning new ways to think and do things.

Sheila’s advice to any newcomer attending the program would be to simply follow the advice of the professional LIF Team and follow the program. Attend the sessions and lectures, and be prepared to do the homework. Go the extra mile.  Be positive with an open mind, ready to listen and learn. This program will enrich your life for the better.  We are all worth it!

Sheila, you are like the ‘little engine that could’ and there is no stopping you.  Such a pleasure to work with and an inspiration to many.

Congratulations Laine!

Lanie is 56, from Vacaville, which is east of San Francisco, where she worked for the BART system. A mother, and now a grandmother, she became an empty nester once retiring. Lanie has always yo-yo dieted, 10-15 lbs up and down, then gained 50 lbs when she stopped smoking, but lost it with a healthy eating plan and exercise. That is, until she retired, where she felt like she had lost her purpose for life, feeling like she had nothing to do. Her day to day life was binging and watching TV.”My eating problem and weight made me feel weak, out of control. The simplest things would tire me out. Playing with the kids would take me a whole day to recover from, and that is the worst thing, because I love to spend time with them more than anything.”

She started looking into weight loss surgery, but found out all the work you have to do to even get the surgery. Her mindset was that you might as well do the work yourself, with exercising and eating right! But, she couldn’t do it herself. “I was to far down the rabbit hole with binging and staying home and watching tv all day” That’s when she considered a weight loss retreat, Once doing the research, comparing programs, Lanie ultimately decided the one for her was Live In Fitness!

Lanie has made amazing strides with her healthy and positive outlook. Her body AND mind continue to change in the supportive environment at Live In Fitness. She has lost 10 lbs so far! Doesn’t sound like much? We try not to solely rely on the scale, as it is only one way to gauge progress. This is why we suggest the Silver Testing, consisting of Resting Metabolic Test, VO2, Scan, and the Hydrostatic Tank. These proved that, although it’s 10 lbs on the scale, it is really more like 14 lbs– as she gained 4lbs in lean mass! That 10 lbs came completely from pure fat!! She continues to train hard and smarter, by increasing her mobility, endurance, as her body is re-firing and doing the work for her to become, and stay, healthy.

When asked about her progress at Live In Fitness:“I feel like my progress has been great! I’m walking so much better and I can’t believe what my body has done in just a short time. I feel so much stronger than I ever thought I could in just 2 weeks, wow. I think the accountability and all the motivation I get from the coaches, and all the guests, too. It truly is like a sisterhood here. I used to isolate myself, and now I think this is going to be what I needed to see that I need to put myself first and make me a priority every single day. I really think this program is changing my life! Without this, I would have just continued to not live my life and and sometimes feel dead inside.”​​

Her advice to anyone interested in the program:

“My advice to others that are doing the program is to fully embrace the program, because if you could do it on your own you wouldn’t be here. You should get the most out of this, as you can to not make your own program within the program. To those thinking about attending, it will teach you so much about eating, and how well your body can preform. It truly is amazing!”

Congratulations to Araceli on dropping an amazing 9.7 lbs in one week at Live In Fitness!

 

Araceli lives in El Monte, California and is a business owner, overseeing and operating a Transformation Center. Araceli had attended the LIF Program back in December of 2017 and knew it was time to revisit and reset when she became discouraged that her weight plateaued and she was starting to sabotage her success by making unhealthy choices. To date, and since attending the LIF Program, Araceli has lost a total of 61.5 lbs and is determined and committed to staying on her personal journey of a healthier and happier lifestyle.

She chose Live In Fitness not once, but twice, so she could physically and emotionally remove herself from distractions, temptations, and be able to focus on her health and fitness. She has always been her own worst self critic and was ready to learn how to be her own biggest fan. She liked the fact that this program, unlike others, held her accountable. The coaches and team are committed, and know how to push each individual client to new heights and reach their full potential.

Flag football and weight training are among her favorite activities. She appreciates the support from the entire LIF Team, but in particular with Coach Blaine & Jay who encourage her daily to strive, hit, and surpass her goals.

The structure and many faceted levels of the Live In Fitness Program allows her to solely focus on herself and her self improvement. The informative lectures, The LIF Plan, the comradely of fellow clients and staff members. By working on internal and external emotions, health and exercise, this allows her to be better in her profession, and more importantly, be there for the important people in her life.

When asked what advice would you give to others considering the LIF Program?

‘Go All In’ – Don’t treat this as a fad diet, but rather that this is a sustainable lifestyle change for life!

There is no secret to this journey we are all on. It’s hard work, which requires dedication and commitment. What you put into this is what you’ll get out. Don’t put off tomorrow, what you can do today.

Congratulations Araceli! You have set your sights on an end goal and have allowed no room to be derailed. Weight loss is a journey and a choice. You reached out for support when you needed it, which shows strength in your character. You should be proud of yourself and your action. When Eric Viscovicz founded his company, he knew the bigger challenges were to come after the clients complete the program. For this reason he created his Aftercare Program for continued support and accountability. He also created FitClub Tv as a web portal for nutrition, exercise workouts, and planning for home.

Tell us a little about your backstory and what ultimately made you decide to come to Live-in Fitness?
I spent 6 years in University getting my bachelors of science in marine biology. I never took a semester off, including summer and winter semesters. I was focusing and stressing over school so much that I inevitably gained weight. Some neighbors of my parents told my parents about Live In Fitness and they asked if I would be interested in going. I agreed because eating healthy and working out all day while in sunny California sounded like an amazing time.

Where are you from?
North Houston, Texas

What is your career?
I don’t have one right now. I graduated with my BS in December and I will be starting my masters program this July in New Zealand. I will be getting my masters in marine conservation.

When did you notice a weight pattern or change if it applies?
I have always been chubby. My weight was increasing steadily for years. It wasn’t until a year ago that the scale read 200.

How did it make you feel/or affect your lifestyle?
Seeing that number on the scale was mortifying. But it was during one of my most difficult semesters and I couldn’t focus on weight loss like I wanted to.

What were your biggest struggles?
I struggled with eating. I always made time for exercise. My cardio was decent and I loved lifting weights. But I would never eat at the right times or the right amount.

Why did you choose LIFE?
My parents neighbors went to the Hilton Head location and had great results. They recommended it to my parents who then made the arrangements for me to come here.

How do you feel about your progress so far?
My progress has been incredible. I am so much thinner and stronger than when I got here. My mental state is so much better too. It really is all mental.

What so far about the program has worked for you?
Personal training has been my greatest tool. Learning how to run more efficiently has helped in all areas. Diet is definitely the most important part of weight loss and the chefs have insured my meals are perfect so that I can reach my goals.

What did you enjoy about the program? classes? lectures? staff? clients?
The program has achieved the perfect algorithm to help almost anybody lose weight. The classes are fun and allow me to push myself even harder. The lectures equip us with the knowledge to continue to lose weight once we’re at home. The trainers are fantastic and very knowledgeable. The chefs are kind and accommodating. The housekeeping manager, Lorena, is hard working and attentive. I have surrounded myself with only positive friends.

How has this changed your outlook on Life?
I feel confident that I will continues to lose weight and keep it off on my own. I have asked all the questions I could, learned new techniques to keep my workouts working and bust through any plateaus I might hit. I will keep this up for my health because I want to have a long life.

What advice would you give others contemplating attending the program?
You have to be in the right mind frame before coming here. Know that this program will only work if you have an open mind and a drive to do your best. There may be setbacks, but you have to be smart about how you will overcome them. There are people here that want to see you succeed and they will give you a push in the right direction. Trust them. Trust the process. Listen to your body. You will be surprised at what it can do.

Congratulations to Una! Our ‘LIFE’ Client of the Week

 

Una is 82 years young from Kansas City and chose to come to Live-in-Fitness for 4 weeks.  She is now retired but worked a full career in medical education. This time around she wanted to utilize her vacation time in a more productive way. To find a health and wellness program where she could work on self improvement, to work on her gait, improve her posture, stability, balance, and mobility. Live-in-Fitness was to be her next destination.

 

Una noticed a steady weight gain 5 years ago when her husband passed away and her lifestyle became more sedentary, living a less active lifestyle.  She chose Live In Fitness because of the scientific testing, nutrition, training, and physical therapy component.  Although unsure she had made the right decision during the first initial days of the program, she soon found her “groove”.  Part of Eric’s vision when creating his company was to build a Training Team with an extensive and specialized knowledge so he could provide a service for all that wanted to make a healthy lifestyle change. Not being limited by their size, shape, age or other such limitations.  Una found her perfect match in Scott. Scott first joined the LIFE Team in 2013 as one of our Elite Strength & Conditioning Coaches specializing in sports therapy, movement analysis and posture.

 

Una was amazed and happy at how quickly she had regained her strength and how much her cardiovascular endurance had improved.  Attending the program at Live In Fitness made Una feel hopeful of sustaining her mobility and strength as she continues to live her life to the fullest. To date Una has lost 8 lbs, increased her lean mass and lost over 6 lbs of fat.

 

When we asked Una what advice would she give others contemplating attending the program?

 

She replied- JUST DO IT! Be adventurous, do it while you can!

 

Una you are such a role model of what living life to the fullest really can be.  You came to this program with such determination and a mindset of “Yes I can”.
