Congratulations to our Client of the Week, David!!

David lost an astounding 9.4 lbs in 1 week! Total 30 lbs (all fat loss), 32 inches, and lost 8% body fat in 6 weeks!

David lives in Northern California and currently works as a mechanic. David’s true passion and dream have always been to join the Marine Corps and become a Marine. Anyone who has served in the military knows first hand there is no leniency. You must pass an entrance exam and a physical test. (3-mile run in 28 minutes or less, along with pull-ups & crunches) With the support of his family, David was able to come to Live-in-Fitness and use the opportunity as a platform to set up for his new career. His goal, of course, is to lose weight but also to learn discipline, accountability and be pushed beyond his limits and discover his true potential.

What has your experience at Live In Fitness been?

One of the earlier struggles I faced at LIF was how sore I was with the demanding workouts every day. I chose Live In Fitness because I knew it was what I needed to accomplish my ultimate goal. LIF is more than I expected and I absolutely love it. I was expecting to work hard, but here at LIF, not only do they push and motivate each individual, they take time to educate you on Eric’s philosophies, proven training techniques, and nutritional plan. They provide a wide range of activities; boxing, martial arts training, M.M.A, and the sports were among my favorite.

This new diet has really worked well for me in my weight loss along with the love and support from all the trainers. The food is specifically measured to the correct macro-nutrients for your goals and prepared fresh daily. I really enjoy the atmosphere around here, including the other clients, who are amazing. The coaches are wonderful, the staff does a fantastic job, the cleaning crew works harder than I’ve ever seen, and the kitchen staff always does an incredible job. This camp has really changed my outlook on life and has prepared me for when I get home. I am developing a plan and know how to stick to it, which is something that will help me in all my future endeavors. LIF has taught me to push myself to the end and then when I think I don’t have any more left to push out, to go beyond that. I have grown and become more capable than ever, completely exceeding my expectations.

If you plan on coming to LIF, you need to expect to work hard and be focused. This camp is not a spa retreat. It is made to change you and add years onto your life. Stick to the diet, follow the workouts and you will be happy with your results. Whatever you put into this camp is what you will get out of it. I push myself every day because I know if I don’t, then I will not be able to get to the next step of my dream of becoming a United States Marine. That’s my motivation. When you are here at LIF, you need to find what motivates you and put that in front of you at all times. No matter how tired you get, how sore you are, or how much you tell yourself you can’t go any further, you need to keep pushing. Never stop working towards your goal, whatever that goal may be. You need to tell yourself that nothing is going to stop you from your set goal and just get up and work. When you are tempted by unhealthy food, you need to tell yourself that “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” Just remember, you are coming to this camp for a reason, make that reason your motivation to get up in the morning and get ready to change your life for the better.

My main focus and the biggest reason for coming to Live In Fitness is to get into shape and join the Marine Corps. Throughout my time here so far, I have noticed many changes in myself, especially when my 4th week came around. By then, I found I was able to push myself much harder in all the workouts than I have been able to in previous weeks. My eating habits are definitely changing for the better and I am learning more about fueling my body and calorie intake, which has made my weight loss goals much more achievable.

We are all so proud of your hard work, David!!

Want to feel better, have more energy and even add years to your life? Just exercise! While making your heart, muscles, and immune system stronger, a fit lifestyle can also improve your mental and emotional health. Here are 4 ways exercise can improve your quality of life.

Defeats Depression
Researchers shows there is a strong link between regular exercise and improved emotional health. Exercise causes the release of mood lifting hormones, relieves stress and encourages a state of well being. The muscle contractions that occur in most types of exercise can increase levels of the serotonin, which defeats negative feelings.

Improves Sex Life
Moderate aerobic exercise can benefit both libido and performance. Studies have found that exercising 30 minutes a day make men 40% less likely to experience erectile dysfunction. In women, 20 minutes of cycling boosts women’s sexual arousal by 170%!

Improves Intellect
Physical exercise boosts blood flow to the brain, which helps increase brain functions. It also encourages good lung health and keeps peoples memories and mental acuity strong as they age. Aerobic exercises, in particular, improve cognitive function.

Helps Sleep
Aerobic exercise helps you fall asleep faster, improves REM sleep, and wakes you less during the night. Exercise is the only way for adults to increase the amount of sleep they get.

Exercise does much more than only keep you slim it also keeps you sane and your life on track. If you’re in stuck in a rut and haven’t been exercising it’s never to late it start and could help you turn things around.

Congratulations to Our Client of the Week, Glynis!

I was very fortunate to find my soulmate on the back half of life. We had met online, went out for a date, and then I stuck him in the friendzone for a year! But, we really were the best friends anyone could ever imagine. Vince was kind, funny, handsome, and fun to be with! And that’s when I realized we were meant to be. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with ALS, a neurodegenerative disease that is 100% fatal. I was my husband’s full time caregiver for the entire 13 months that he lived with ALS. As I made him high calorie, high fat foods to keep his weight up, I began to over do it. Then, when he passed away, I turned to food for any sort of comfort. I stopped being active… I just stopped. But, then one day in January, something occurred to me. Many of my current friends that are battling this disease have lost the ability to move their muscles or to eat foods, or even breathe. And I thought how unfair it was to them that wanted to be healthy and I was throwing my own health away. I did my research online and found Live In Fitness. What made me choose LIFE was the emphasis on the after care and home plan. Most people can lose weight under strict supervision, but the challenge is the after care at home. So, on my 48th birthday, I booked my 2 week stay!

Where are you from?
I live 20 mins south of San Francisco on the coast, steps away from the ocean

What is your career?
I own my own dog walking and pet sitting business. But due to the loss of Vince, I had to expand my business plan to include doggie daycare to make ends meet, ending my daily hikes and walks with my packs. And even though we still run around in daycare, the pups get the exercise and not me. So the pounds kept coming. And the long hours of a pet sitter kept me going to fast foods. And the pounds kept coming!

What did you expect when coming here to LIF?
I expected the food to be terrible, the classes to be painful and to feel a bit alone. NOT THE CASE! Food has been really yummy and filling. The classes have been hard but doable! Never in a million years did I think I could basically do 2 hours of Abs and Core work, but I did! I find it amazing what the body can do in just one week after being beaten up for the past 3 years!

How do you feel about your progress so far?
I am so glad that my hard work has paid off! I know we all want the instant gratification, but it doesn’t work that way, but, the small victories like losing 6 and a half pounds and 10 inches in the first week is a great victory!!!

What so far about the program has worked for you?
They make it very simple! Show up to class to work, sweat a ton, eat what they give you and keep hydrated! It’s simple! BUT BE PREPARED TO WORK HARD AND PUSH YOUR SELF! Your coaches will be there for you, but only YOU can truly push yourself!

How has this changed your outlook on Life?
I’ve had a few a-ha moments this week. First being if the body can change this quickly to be able to do all that we do here, imagine how long it must have fought to try and keep up with all the junk that I fed it and lack of motion. And the other came to me during a cardio class. I had looked down at my watch and thought to myself, wow, I have been working out for 48 mins!!! And then I realized that I had been doing that for the past 4 days but for 5-7 hours a day!!! I just burst into laughter!! I really don’t have anymore excuses as to why I can’t go to the gym or workout at home! Just 48 mins and then some!

What advice would you give others contemplating attending the program?
Give yourself the gift of life and love for your self! You have probably tended to others for a long time, this time is for you! And we all deserve it!!

What advise would you give to others?
My slogan has been: I’m here, I showed up and I’m ALIVE! My Motivation when I really need it in class, I think of all my ALS friends that would love to move their muscles and so that pushes me. So, I do this for them as well! I repeat to mysef, I will not waste my muscles!!

You did an amazing job, Glyns!

The whole LIF team is so proud of you!!
