Why
the Teens Should Avoid Starvation Diet?
As a teenager, it is important to stay fit and fine avoiding all weight problems.
It is also vital to stay cool and avoid ineffective or unhealthy. This is because
during the teenage, there would numerous developments and changes happening
in the body. Some of the changes would be visible while others would not be
explicit. Hence good health is really essential to ensure the development of
the body smoothly. But it is extremely significant that you must do proper
weight loss methods that would give the desired effect. For attaining the results
most of the teenagers would participate in weight loss boot camps.
Such fit camps are highly effective in losing the weight especially
for teenagers since weight loss centers plan methods accordingly.
However, there are certain things that the teenagers must avoid doing.
There is a common misconception among teenagers as well as
others that starvation is the best way to reduce weight. This is unaccepted
and people especially the teenagers should not follow starvation diet at any
cost. Only if the teenager is facing any obesity problems and unless and recommended
by a doctor as treatment, any diet that involves drastic reduction should be
avoided. It would lead to unhealthy and possibly dangerous situations. Strangely
enough, it has been seen that severe dieting among teens leads to gain weight
rather than reduction. This is because the body has a natural defense mechanism
designed to overcome the effects of a food shortage. As a result, the weight
loss slows down and the dieter would be experiencing tiredness and lack of
energy. Here a combination of hunger and cravings may trigger rigorous eating
leading to obesity. So it has been highly suggested that teens should avoid
starvation diets.
Yet another common problem with starvation diet is that almost
50 percent of the weight loss is not fat at all but lean tissue.
To be precise, during drastic calorie reduction, the body starts burning up
its own muscles. Moreover there are also some health effects following the
starvation diet. In an average a teen would require certain amount of calories
t satisfy the nutritional demands of the growth they undergo. So a very low
calorie diet would lead to severe nutritional deficiencies leading to tiredness,
weakness, skin and hair problems and also hormonal problems. Hence the starvation
diet should be completely avoided if you are planning for weight loss methods.
The best way to reduce weight would be to eat healthy and take regular exercise.
But many teenagers find it difficult to follow this tried and tested time consuming
method. For them effective weight loss programs are available at weight
loss retreats like L.I.F.E where each teen would be treated according
to the health condition.
