Using Social Media to Help Stay on Track with Your Exercise Routine

For many people who attend an adult weight loss camp, one of the hardest challenges comes after they return. How do you maintain the same level of focus and dedication that you had in weight loss summer camps after they are done and you’re back at home? After all, it can be very easy to fall back into the same harmful routines and undo all the hard work you did over the summer.

The answer for many people can be found online. Many people are using social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook as a way to stay motivated and build on the progress they made at weight loss boot camps. It makes sense, since one of the reasons that these weight loss programs are so successful is that they help people make connections with other people going through similar challenges. Many people are staying connecting after their weight loss workout program has ended, either by updating their friends with their results through social media, or even creating groups on Facebook to act as a virtual training team to provide motivation to keep moving forward.

Another reason that social media networks are so valuable for exercisers is the guilt factor. By posting their progress online, people get their friends and families involved and excited about their progress. Consequently, they soon realize that if they begin slacking and not maintaining their workout routine, these same people who were so excited will eventually be disappointed. Having people following their weight loss journey gives them extra motivation to stick with it when it gets difficult.
