At-home Workout Suggestions

Many people find success after going to a weight loss summer camp. But for other people, the comedown after leaving adult fat camps can be steep. It can be very difficult for people to maintain their boot camp program after they return to their normal routines and don’t have a trainer working with them on a daily basis.

However, if people are unable or unwilling to make it out to their gyms for a grueling workout, there are still plenty of ways for them to get the same great exercise they had been getting from boot camp physical training. Here are just a few suggestions for great at-home workout routines.

Kettlebells: Popular in Russia, a kettlebell is a weight that resembles a cannonball with a handle attached. From inside their own home, people can use these to swing, lift and do exercises like thrusts and “clean and jerks” without needing an expensive weight set.

Dance programs: Workouts  based on popular world dance styles such as Bollywood, samba or Afro-Cuban encourage people to get exercise while having fun dancing. These workouts are frequently available on DVD and can be done at home or in groups.

Back to basics: Many people are rejecting specialized exercise routines and choosing to get “back to the basics.” This means doing exercises such as jumping jacks, pushups and running that they might have not done since they were in PE in junior high, but also still offer many health benefits.
